New Study Predicts Broadband Telephony Market Will Nearly Double By 2013

According to a new report from JupiterResearch, the broadband telephony market will increase from 14.7 million subscribers in 2007 to 28.4 million lines in 2013. The report sites cable operators as the segment that will see most of the increase in their VoIP subscriber base, nearly doubling during the forecast period.
 
This increase is predicted to be a result of triple play offerings. According to the study, “US Broadband Telephony Forecast, 2008 to 2013,” 47% of consumers subscribing to triple play said that bundled services had a strong influence on their selection of a home phone service provider.

The New iPhone Will Have Lower Sticker Price, But are there Additional Fees?

Any day now Apple will be releasing their 2.0 version of the iPhone, the iPhone G3. iPhone G3 has the same appeal (phone, internet, iPod; all in one) as the original version of the iPhone just with a much smaller price tag. Apple is marketing the G3 model as, “twice as fast, half the price”. The new model will go for as little as $199.00 for the 8GB model and $299.00 for the 16GB model. The G3 model is cheaper and will be faster however this comes at the expense of a shorter battery life and an extra  $10.00 data fee (for U.S customers.)
