The effortless IPsmarx Auto-Provisioning feature for Softswitch is an auto-installation system supporting famous name brands such as Linksys, Sipura, and Grandstream IP phones. The feature allows service providers to rapidly deploy and configure IP phone service at the customer's premises without requiring configuration of the IP phone systems at the customer site and with little or no on-site technician intervention.
Auto-Provisioning technology allows phone products to be installed and automate many of the configuration tasks. This consists of two basic functions: learning and setting the IP address and downloading the configuration, including username and password, for the IP phone. When the IP phone is switched on, the phone connects with the provisioning server, where it is assigned a unique IP address.
